Was good talking with Jirka this afternoon in the gym at MSAC, he congratulated me on yesterday's new bench press pb, 115kg, slow and steady progress.
After leaving the gym I felt like going for a run along the beach at Mordialloc, it's been a beautiful day in Melbourne, I hit shuffle on my iPod and this song came on about 5 minutes after starting, I like the lyrics 'Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father'.
I ended up jogging for about 3km's, around 20 minutes, slow and steady progress, a lot of the run was on soft sand with barefeet. When I first set my Melbourne Storm goal in May 2009, I was living in Southbank, thought I should go for a jog to see where I was at, I only got around 600m before I had to stop because of pain in my body.
Now, over 2 and a 1/2 years on, and with a total of 5 operations behind me, I'm running pain free. Have a great new year's, I like the part 6 minutes into this song.
Funny timing that both these movies were playing at the same time last night on Foxtel, society has come a long way, still a long way to go, Improvement After Movement.
Ghosts of Mississippi stars Alec Baldwin and Whoopi Goldberg.
Mississippi Burning stars Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe.
The waves at Kailua Beach (image 4) are slighty bigger than the waves I was body surfing this afternoon at Mordialloc Beach, after a 20 minute beach run, good fun.
Me and 3 of my old mates had new years in Hawaii in 2004/05, it was the first leg of my 6 week US trip, (trip 3) beautiful place, can't wait to go back there again one day.
During their conversation Dave asked Tom about his Days of Thunder movie. Funny timing, Days of Thunder was playing on Foxtel earlier in the afternoon, caught the last hour of it, then fell asleep, been training pretty hard.
This is the first time the two have met, so much of the media's attention has been on Tim Tebow this season because of the Broncos string of 4th quarter comeback wins.
