At my first By Referral Only 3 day training I met a wonderful person, her name's Kim Williamson. We sat next to each other on day 1 of the event.
Towards the end of the 3rd day Kim asked me where I was staying for the rest of my time in America, I told her I was just going to be at the hotel.
Kim invited me to stay with her family for the rest of my stay in LA, husband John, son Vince, daughter's Jenny and Lauren, and their dog Brownie.
Outside of an unbelievable training experience with By Referral Only, staying with the Williamson's was the best part of my first overseas trip.
To experience American culture from the inside instead of from the outside staying in a hotel was great, Kim became like my American mom, and said I could base myself from her home whenever I was in LA, there were 5 trips over a 4 year period.
Reason I'm posting this message is because I found the journal Kim gave me during the trip, inside of the cover was an intro to Byron Katie's Loving What Is book.
I wrote a note dated 15/10/03, it said read Loving What Is. I didn't start reading the book until my 3Rd trip in early 2005, when I stayed at the home of By Referral Only founder Joe Stumpf, in San Diego. (Cardiff by the Sea)
It took 16 months before the time was right for me to start working through the most important personal development work I've ever done, check it out when you have a minute, it's at the very bottom of Start Here.
